Reading Program
Nativity’s independent reading program began in 2007 as Read for Miles. Since the program’s inception, Nativity students have cumulatively documented well over 100,000 pages of independent reading. In support of their intellectual and moral growth, students are strongly encouraged to read beyond their academic requirements. Moreover, students are able to track their page totals and are rewarded for every 500 pages of reading documented.
In tandem with their reading, students keep track of authors, book titles, and grade-level appropriateness. As well, students have prepared summaries of every book read. All of this information is available to students and the public at http://nativityreads.weebly.com.
